A Ghastly Tale was a series of one- or two-page horror strips which appeared in the short-lived 1980s horror anthology comic Scream!.
It took its name from the comic’s fictional editor, Ghastly McNasty, who acted as a 'presenter' — i.e. introducing each of the short tales.

- Issue 1: A monster masquerades as a man in costume to scare kids at a carnival freakshow.
- Issue 2: An experimental hormone formula which is accidentally used on a tree in the 21st century causes it to wreak revenge on a young couple for the destruction of nature by humanity.
- Holiday Special 1986: An out-of-work actor named Tom Bern thinks he’s going to appear on the television show This is Your Life, but finds out that he was actually knocked down and killed by a taxi cab some time earlier; and the show he's appearing on is actually This is Your Death.
