Angus Peter Allan, writer and editor, was born in Wimbledon, London, on 22 July 1936. He joined the Amalgamated Press as an office junior, working on The Comet, Cowboy Comics and Super Detective Library, edited by Ted Holmes. He did national service in the Gordon Highlanders in Cyprus from 1954 to 1956, before returning to AP. After working on Super Detective Library, he became co-editor of Cowboy Picture Library with Alan Fennell. He left to join Newnes and Pearson, where he was on the staff that produced the romance photo-comic Marty, and met his future wife, Gillian. He then went freelance as a scriptwriter, and wrote many scripts for Alan Fennell’s comics TV Century 21, including “Stingray” and “Thunderbirds”, and Look-In, including “The Six Million Dollar Man”, “Logan's Run”, “Charlie's Angels” and “Dangermouse”. He also wrote scripts for the Daily Mirror’s sci-fi strip Garth. He and his wife moved to France in January 1990, where he died of cancer on 16 July 2007.
