Arthur Mansbridge was born in 1878 in Bow, London. He wrote and illustrated children's books, and also worked in comics, drawing adventure strips like "The Secret of Smugglers' Castle" (1937) and "Kaloo, King of the Tigers" (1939-40) for Golden. His son, Norman Mansbridge, was also a comics artist. He died in Essex in 1963, aged 85.
