Barbara Hayes worked in editorial for the Amalgamated Press and wrote many stories and comic scripts for their titles. She married AP editor Leonard Matthews in 1957. She has had around 80 books and 7300 scripts published in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, South Africa and the USA.
