- Not to be confused with Barry Appleby, creator of The Gambols
Barrie Appleby is an artist who has drawn children's humour and adventure comics for DC Thomson and IPC since the mid-1970s. He drew strips such as "Terror TV", "Teddy Scare", and "Starr Tour" in Monster Fun (1975-76), and then for Buster (after Monster Fun merged into it) until 1979. Since the 1980s he has mostly worked for DC Thomson, drawing "The Badd Lads" for The Beezer, "Cuddles and Dimples" and "Puss 'n' Boots" for The Dandy, and "Billy Whizz", "Roger the Dodger" and "Billy the Cat and Katie" for The Beano, as well as drawing "Dennis the Menace and Gnasher" and "Minnie the Minx" for Beano spin-off paperbacks. In the mid 1980s he also drew for Marvel UK's The Get Along Gang.
