Buck Jones (real name Charles Frederick Gebhart, 1891-1942) was an actual honest-to-god cowboy before becoming an actor and stuntman. He was best known for starring in western films from the 20s to the 40s, and was also a popular western character in British comics. He appeared in Film Fun (1933-) and Film Picture Stories (1934-35), drawn by J. H. Valda and Jos Walker. After the war, he appeared in The Comet (1949-, drawn by Reg Bunn), Cowboy Comics (1950-, drawn by Geoff Campion, Alberto Breccia, Harry Bishop and others) and The Sun (1951-).
