The Biographical Dictionary of British Comics is a work in progress. The intention is to create a proper biographical dictionary, including every identifiable individual who worked in British comics in whatever capacity - as a writer, artist, editor, letterer, colourist or publisher, or any other function this sentence doesn't anticipate - and, and this is the important bit, who is no longer living. I've also included anyone who was born before 1913 or active before 1930 where no dates can be found. This, I hope, will counteract the regrettable online tendency, especially on wikis, to recentism, and allow a more historical focus.
A lot of this involves original research. I'm consulting existing sources, but also genealogy sites for births, marriages, deaths and census returns. On my own user pages I've set up a load of pages full of redlinks which I will fill in as I go. Anyone who wants to join in is obviously welcome to do so.
