Charles Dare, born c. 1868, was a publisher of comics under the name C. A. Ransom. He published some titles, including Merry Moments, Happy, Up-To-Date and Sunny, for national distribution, and other titles in tabloid format in runs of 100,000, for sale at London street markets in the 1930s. The principal artist on Ransom titles was Reg Carter. Dare died on 19 June 1939.
