Dan Abnett (b. 12 October 1965) is a writer of comics (often in collaboration with co-writer Andy Lanning), novels and audio dramas. Born on 12 October 1965, he studied at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, graduating in 1984. For 2000 AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine he created “Sinister Dexter”, “Black Light”, “Badlands”, “Atavar”, “Sancho Panzer”, “Roadkill” and “Insurrection”, and has written “Judge Dredd”, “Rogue Trooper”, “Durham Red”, “Wardog” and “The VCs”. For Marvel UK he created Death’s Head 2, Battletide and Knights of Pendragon. For Warhammer he wrote “Damnation Crusade”, “Lone Wolf”, “Inquisitor Ascendant” and “Titan”. He has also written for Marvel, DC, Wildstorm, Top Cow and Dark Horse Comics in the USA. He has written novels for Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe, Doctor Who and Torchwood novels and audio dramas, and three original novels for HarperCollins’ sf imprint Angry Robot.
