Deadline was a comic magazine published from 1988 to 1995 by Deadline Publications (known as Cardrest Ltd. before the mag's second issue). Lasting for 69 issues - published on a quasi-monthly, 11-a-year basis - it is best known for introducing the character Tank Girl.

Created by Brett Ewins and Steve Dillion Deadline was first published in October 1988.[1] In 1991 Dark Hiorse began publishing a US edition.[2]

The "Tank Girl" strip became popular enough to spawn a film, released in 1995. Tis was not well received and its commercial underperformance was a factor in Deadline's death in 1995.[3]

Strips included...

"Beryl the Bitch" "Cheeky Wee Budgie Boy" (Phillip Bond) "Hugo Tate" (Nick Abadiz) "Johnny Nemo" (Brett Ewin) "Sharp" (Steve Dillon) "Tank Girl" (Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin) "Wired World" (Phillip Bond)
