Dino Battaglia was born in Venice, Italy, on 1 August 1923, and started drawing for Italian comics in the 1940s. In 1952-52 he drew "Mark Fury", a strip set in Edwardian England, for L'Intrepido magazine, which was later reprinted in the Junior Express in the UK. From 1959 he also worked for Fleetway through the Roy D'Ami Studio in Milan, drawing for Top Spot, Knockout, Thriller Picture Library and Look and Learn. He continued to work in Italian and French comics, often in collaboration with his wife, Laura de Vescovi, until his death on 4 October 1983.
