Eddy

Ghost, usually stylised as Meet Chumley Towers' oldest resident- his name's Edd and he's a GHOST! and occasionally shortened to Meet Edd- He's a Ghost, was a strip in The Beezer and Topper, debuting in issue 35 (19th May 1991) and appearing in the Topper section of the merged comic. It was drawn by David Mostyn.

It focused around the ghost of a boy from the 17th century called Edd Chumley, whose stately home was demolished to make way for a block of flats. The strip mostly revolved around Edd haunting the flats and scaring the residents. One of the recurring characters was a grey cat whose dialogue was usually added in by Mostyn himself and was not part of the script. Edd went on to become a mainstay of the comic, appearing in all but fifteen issues after his debut.

Although Edd was not picked up by either The Beano or The Dandy following the demise of The Beezer and Topper, a very similar character was introduced to The Dandy in 1996 called Hector Spectre. Edd was ostensibly reprinted in the same comic in the months leading up to the 2004 revamp under the shortened title of Edd The Ghost.
