Henry Kenneth Bulmer, best known as a writer of science fiction, also wrote comics. Born in London on 14 January 1921, he wrote over 160 novels and lots of short stories, under his real name and various pseudonyms, and was active in science fiction fandom. In comics, he wrote Jet-Ace Logan stories for Tiger,[1] scripts for War Picture Library, Lion and Valiant, and helped create the antihero The Steel Claw.[2] Paul Grist's comic Jack Staff acknowledges this: the civilian identity of his anti-hero The Claw is Ben Kulmer. Bulmer died in Kent on 16 December 2005.
