Maureen Vera Spurgeon, née Newman, born 20 November 1941 in Islington in London, England, United Kingdom, dead 30 October 2007, was a British journalist, teacher and writer of children's books and comics. She worked in British girls' comics in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, writing for DC Thomson's Bunty and "No Tears for Molly" for IPC's Tammy, among others. She died of cancer on 30 October 2007.
