Ranger was a weekly children's magazine published by Fleetway from 1965 to 1966. It ran for 40 issues before merging into Look and Learn.[1]

Comic-wise, Ranger is probably best remembered for "The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire", which continued into Look and Learn.[2] Also noteworthy, albeit more as a curiosity than anything else, is an early (and very loose) English translation of the French comic Asterix; this localisation saw the story transferred from Gaul to Britain, with Asterix renamed Beric (possibly a nod to G.A. Henty's novel Beric the Briton) while his sidekick Obelix, bizarrely, was identified as the son of Boadicea.[3][4]

Other strips in Ranger included sci-fi adventure "Space Cadet", school story "Rob Riley" and Western "Dan Dakota".
