The Big Comic was a weekly published by James Henderson & Sons, starting in 1917. Hendersons were taken over by the Amalgamated Press, and The Big Comic was merged with Sparks on 5 January 1918. The merged title was called The Big Comic and Sparks until 5 October, when it was renamed Sparks and Big Comic.
