SwissfamilySun

A 1948 instalment of Bob Wilkin's strip for Sun.

The Swiss Family Robinson are a set of characters created by the Swiss author Johann David Wyss for his 1812 novel Der Schweizerische Robinson. Wyss' story tells how the family members were shipwrecked in the East Indies and had to fend for themselves as castaways, like their namesake Robinson Crusoe.

The novel has been adapted at least twice in British comics. In the forties, Sun ran an adaptation drawn by Bob Wilkin. Later, Swift ran an adaptation from 1954 to 1955 which was drawn by Frank Bellamy.
