Tom Paterson is a Scottish artist who works in a style elaborated from Leo Baxendale's later work. He started working in comics while still at school, and has worked extensively for both IPC and DC Thomson. He is best known for drawing "Sweeny Toddler" in Shiver and Shake, Whoopee!, Whizzer and Chips and Buster (1974-1990), and "Calamity James" in The Beano (1986-).
