Union Jack 1105

Issue 1105, 1924, cover by Eric Parker

Union Jack was a story paper published by Alfred Harmsworth, later the Amalgamated Press, from 1894. It initially published westerns and boy's own adventure stories set around the British Empire and at sea. The second issue featured a Sexton Blake story. As the years went on, Blake gradually took over the paper. From 1905 it was subtitled "Sexton Blake's Own Paper", and featured Blake in every issue. It ran until 1933, when it was replaced by Detective Weekly.
