War Picture Library was a comic published by AP/Fleetway/IPC from 1958 to 1984. It was launched by Leonard Matthews and edited by Ted Bensberg, and has been identified by Steve Holland as the first comic to use the "picture library" format.
The comic drew on the talents of Italian illustrators, such as Hugo Pratt and Gino d'Antonio, Spanish artists like Artur Aldomà Puig, Luis Bermejo, José Bielsa and Francisco Cueto, and German artists like Kurt Caesar. Cover artists included Graham Coton. Writers included Ken Bulmer and Donne Avenell.
